Indian (TRP) Idol

Indian idol is supposedly the greatest reality TV hunt for the most talented singer in India...

The search is extensive ... if u have cared to catch few episodes....They pick people singing in marriages, galli-mohallas, cross-roads...anywhere, nation wide talent search as they proudly call...

But pore over few episodes & u would be forced to think, if talented singers is what this program is aiming at..!!

A lady comes in the show, sings really well and Annu Mallik gives the judgement - "There is an inbuilt crack in your voice. You are no very near the level of India Idol. We want the best."

Mr. Annu ji, I don't belong to a music background, but I can definitely say that she sung much better than most of the singers you selected last year. And just imagine the nervousness of the singer singing for the first time before 4 celebrated stalwarts of the industry..

Now, she departs weeping.....

I don't want to be too judgmental but the only reason I could see for her departure was not her musical talent but her not-so-pretty face, which seems to be the set criteria for Indian Idol selection ,at least for Mr. Annu Mallik, who I doubt gives more priority to persona than singing talent.

Next comes lady No 2...Before entering th stage, near the entry she starts imitating voices of birds .. She is also not Aishwarya Rai, but much more charming than the lady who supposedly had an inbuilt crack in her voice.

Annu ji is unceremoniously impressed by her talent. He starts to play tabla on table asks her to provide music by her talent to imitate birds. She follows..

The tabla-bird session continues for a while before the four judges (oh yea, there were hree other people in judge's seat) decide to finally make her sing..

She sngs : "Aaj rapat jaaye to hume na uthaiyo.."

Even before she completes the mukhada of the song, the judges, lost in charm of her bird-imitation talent decide to gie her thumbs-up.

What is it!! Singing talent search or Animal planet anchor hunt??

But at least the above two cases were related to singing...

Next

A country boy comes to the scene and starts making voices of opening doors, musical instruments....takes about 5 minutes to show his talent off...voice imitation talent again!!

A blind autistic girl (I agree she sung pretty well!!) comes to the scene and sings really well, but to no avail.... an emotional stunt I would assert.!! why waste her (and our) time if you don't intend to select her at all!!

A person comes and starts dancing for no reason!!

Husssain comes disguised as a singer & plays with the judges!!

Sonali Bendre, do I really need to remind you that its a 'singing' talent not 'acting' talent hunt? For gods sake, what are you doing here....?

Javed Akhtar can still be tolerated given his experience and his occupation of writing songs if not singing them but Sonali.. A cute face is not enough to decide the most talented singer of India!!
Plus, you have hardly contributed to any judgment except fot lip-sinking with Annu ji, once in a while and crying for that autistic girl!!

Of course, more drama is yet to come.....t he inevitable difference of opinion between the judges... unnoticed dancers, crying mothers !! blab, blab, blab!!



But, for god's sake..stop making animations around Javed Akhtar, we can clearly see his emotions anyway...and stop the stupid narrations "is ke bhavishya ke saath kya hoga, kya ye rote hue waapas jaayengi ya haste hue?"

Why don't you rather change the name of the program to 'Indian TRP Idol' instead of 'Indian Idol'

Singing competitions have always been there....Like Sa re ga ma, Antakshari...and we have seen hundreds of singers making their carriers by singing in those shows and gaining platform to enter the industry....but India Idol completely seems to have lost track!! you actually wonder if they are stuck with junkies or or they are actively searching for them..

P.S.: Of course, once in a while you can catch a few talented singers ... but given the enormity of junk you are exposed to, don't get surprised to miss them......

The God Delusion

Mostly, I don't think about God.... but some people keep reminding me about him in someway or other.bled to hi


Semi-sleep and tired like dead, this is what I babbled to him.. I know a lot of people will instantly recognise who the other person was :D

For others, what can I say, he, I don't believe, wants himself to be exposed ...lets say..enjoy the bliss of ignorance.

My point :

c wt I think must be the case shd be (tho am nt very sure is), ultimately, all beings arose from protein particles, after severa stages....the particles learned that for growth they need each others support, this simple feeling got extended, developed and expressed in dfferent foms in differenet beings....so, if u don't co-operate wid any 1, cheat or do any activity of social isolation, u feel guilty, awkward and wrong........ and u feel dt u 'd be punished in some way or the other..may be sall the particles inside all living beings are also unconsciously connected and influence everyone by stimulating their feelings of happines, love, guilt, fear etc...perpetuaton is the only aim dt is atthe core of all the particles or beings...and all the activities conducive to it r favoured..(sex, attraction, love, friendship all resulted form it)....and all activities destructiv to it r opposed by the very nature (isolation, celebacy :D etc) & ppl who fall in these activities feel anxious day in day out...plu, some how those particles also thgt that since perpetuation is the only aim, y do more sex than necessary, which can be actially dangerous & harmful, hence they induced feelings of guilt in ppl to stop the access...basically, every thgt feeling or behavior of a living being is derived from aforementioned with himreasons...but this is just one of the various theories that I have develpped ;)

Greetings!!

Hello......

After a rather stretched break from blogger world, this, I believe would give my insomniac nights a little respite.

Long long ago, I used to blog here .

But, now I am starting all anew.

Yes, I would be offering renewed energy to this blog and free upgrades for all my devoted(yes, kill me!!) readers.

Breaking News : I have become an insomniac...

Yeah, now, I going to officially join the cult of idle insomniacs ,who believe that they can change the engines of world by relentless babbling and incessant accumulation of unnecessary information pervading everywhere on the internet in their little piece of blog.

Its 02:00 A.M. right now here, India.

And, believe me or not, I spent last 40 minutes searching for a cheesy URL for my blog..!!

Everything..everything...is already occupied.......which makes me wonder..that either there are lacs of insomniacs like me...stealing URLs for their blogs they are never going to post OR there are headless junkies, robots, programs designed to fill all the urls with all the words in dictionary so that some stupid data entry company can earn a few thousand bucks...


Ok, enough digression......point is, I tried hundreds of URL, really good ones and found that all of them have been occupied, though most of them don't have a single message posted....so, finally settling on 'brainstrike'...

As opposed to aforementioned self-consumed piece of information, my upcoming blogs, I promise, would be devoted to you....and by you, I mean society, world, politics, internet, time-machine....ok, not time-machine.!!
